Difficulty feeding first born, what about the second?

I had to have an emergency c-section with my 1st child. The epidural did not take not once, but TWICE. So I had to be completely knocked out. I woke up around 11am and had her at 7am. I fed her immediately and it was in my records not to use substitutions or pacifiers, etc. My milk came in 1 day later and the entire 3 days I was in the hospital my child was attached at the . While I slept, ate, watched TV, etc. That's where she stayed. I didn't have latching on problems or sore nipple problems. Everything was fine. Then all of a sudden I wasn't producing enough and my nearly 9lb little girl went down to 5-6lbs in 2 weeks and it was touch and go to get her to gain. I pumped after letting my fill back up after a feeding session. I was lucky if I got 2 oz. after 30 mins. I nursed her every 2 hours all night and day. Nothing worked. My supply eventually dried up completely at 6 months. My question is this: Should I attempt to feed my second child? Does anyone know the chances of having milk supply issues again this time around? Is there anything I can do that I haven't already done with my first child? My mother is very much against the idea of feeding in general, however my Hubby and I are all for it. I'm just really torn. I know how much it hurt that I couldn't produce enough to sustain my little girl and I'm not sure I could go through that feeling again. Thanks so much for your responses.
