Am I doing enough?

My husband's mother ped yesterday. Very sudden, in the middle of the night. She had let her dog out and collasped in the doorway of her home. Her neighbor found her at 5am when she was leaving for work and saw that the door was open. We are totally devastated as his father ped the same way 3 years ago. My husband is the oldest of two sons. He is being a rock now. He took charge and made the hard calls to family and insurance companys. His mother did not leave a will and was very private about her affairs. We are left to go through files to find out exactly what policies she had and if they are even in effect yet. His brother accused him of some terrible things and I feel it has hurt him badly. We just want peace and a dignified funeral for a wonderful woman who loved us all more than life itself. I keep telling him how proud I am of him and have made calls to help him out. I know that his grief will come later, but what can I do if anything now to lighten his load?
