Can an object be cursed?

Me and my friends where walking until i seen a black creature and my friend seen ripples. We found a Carousel Ornament with my birth year on it. I took it home and my mom started getting bad vibes. Well i kept it and started to hear voices and seeing things. Well I was put on skitzo meds but i stop taking it. I moved in with my sister and brought it with me. Well last month i moved to fl and now she started hearing the same things as i did. I forgot to bring it with me. The funny thing. Its repeating the same things as it did to me. Is it possess or we might be crazy and I might be really skitzo even though i don't hear voices anymore.
